Superintendent Robert L. Smith is the founder and Pastor of House of Prayer COGIC, Warner Robins, Ga. He was born in the City of Fort Valley, Ga. 1957. He is a graduate of Peach County High School, 1975. He attended Fort Valley State College after high School, he received a Bachelor's degree in Theology and Christian Counseling from Emmanuel Bible College, Macon Ga.


In 1981 after serving 4 years of active military duty in the field of communications, he was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Core. Returning home in 1981, after much study and faithful service , he was ordained an Elder in the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Supt. Oscar L. Felton, Sr. in the Northern Ga. Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under Bishop J. Howard Dell.

God called Superintendent Smith on Easter Sunday March 26,1978. He was twenty years old, home on military leave, during that time he did not know God. Because of God's grace and mercy, God gave Supt. Smith a vision of his glory and coming Revelation. On the same day God called him, Supt. Smith was filled with the Holy Ghost. Not realizing what God was doing with him, he straightway preached to those who was present in the house that day, he preached with great zeal, " You Must be Ready When God Come to Pick Up His People."


While in Okinawa Japan he became a member of Camp Kuwae Church and faithfully served, singing in the choir. In 1980 stationed at Camp Pendleton, California he became a member of Friendly COGIC in Oceanside Under Supt. Thomas Hammond and Jurisdictional Bishop J. A. Blake, Sr.


Supt. Smith has consistently ministered the word of God, he has shared the word of God in newspaper articles. He has served as a counselor with the Bill Glass Prison Ministry and have faithfully preached on the radio, television, open air street meetings, under the gospel tent, in convalescent homes, in and out of local and state prisons.


His wife is District Missionary Barbara A. Smith for 33 years. They are the parents of two children, Son Elder Robert Martinez Smith and daughter Christian Evangela Smith Holt. Their beloved son-in-law is Eddie Holt.


Supt Robert L. Smith is presently serving as the Supt. of the International City District in the Southern Ga. II Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop John Wayne Leggett.
